São Paulo State, built as a team at Prodesp
São Paulo Services Portal
The official catalog of São Paulo State public services, built from scratch with the team: citizens find a service and see how to apply, what to bring, what it costs and where to go.
- Django
- Django REST Framework
- Java
- Quarkus
- Apache Camel
- SQL Server
- OpenShift
- Docker
The problem
Each State agency published its services its own way, on different websites. Citizens didn't know where to look, and the same kind of information came in different formats.
What I built
Two fronts built together: CensoSP, where each agency registers and updates its services in a single format, and the Services Portal, where citizens find everything. Between them, an API layer that also feeds other government systems.
- Public portal with search and filters by agency, region and service channel
- Standardized service pages: what it is, who it's for, how to apply, documents, timing and cost
- CensoSP, the back office where agencies register and maintain their services
- REST API and integration microservices for other government systems
- gov.br sign-in, sign language support and citizen ratings for each service
Technical decisions
- The public portal is separate from the back office and reads data through a token-protected API, so each side deploys and scales on its own.
- Quarkus and Apache Camel microservices expose categories, agencies, services, locations and statistics to other systems.
- Visits and ratings for each service are tracked, so agencies know what citizens look for most.
- Agencies sign in with corporate login (OIDC) and every service exposes health checks for OpenShift.
- Separate develop, release and production pipelines on OpenShift, with Docker images.
