In production for a client
Neri Artigos
End-to-end management system for a maker of religious metal goods, used daily by the team and its customers.
- Django
- PostgreSQL
- ReportLab
- nginx
- gunicorn
- GitHub Actions
- django-axes
The problem
The company ran orders, prices and payments on spreadsheets and WhatsApp. Every metal price change meant hours of rework, and nobody knew for sure what was in production or how much was still owed.
What I built
A single back office for orders, customers, suppliers, price list and finance, plus a page where each customer builds their own order through a personal link.
- Orders with a status pipeline, full history and branded PDFs
- Per-customer order link so clients place orders from their phone
- Price list per material, with bulk price updates reviewed before they apply
- Finance module with payables, receivables and cash flow
- Automated GitHub Actions deploy with backup, smoke test and rollback
Technical decisions
- Each order line stores the price at the time of sale, so a price update never changes past orders.
- Two-step price updates: a draft shows before and after for every price and only applies after review, keeping the history.
- Customers order without logging in, through a unique token link that can be revoked and reissued.
- Every status change records who made it and when.
- Login protected against brute force with django-axes.
- Every push to main backs up the database, migrates, restarts and runs a smoke test; one script rolls back to any version.
